I can't wait for 2006 to get here. I have big plans and a lot to do. This year I plan to use my time wisely – all 365 days.
TheSoulPitt.com has evolved and developed its own personality with message boarders & SoulFam cults meeting for happy hours on a regular. The Soul Pitt material in our Writer's Block has been used in writing and poetry workshops around the city. And the demand for The Soul Pitt to sponsor and host events have been overwhelming.
I thank God for a wonderful & blessed year! He has allowed me to learn so much about being an entrepreneur. Make that an African-American Women Entrepreneur in Pittsburgh (Trust me, that makes a BIG difference!)
When you go into business and start to show an inkling of success, let me tell you – it can be a funny thing. You will encounter everything from haters to supporters. I’ve been fortunate enough to have a tremendous amount of support. I have partnered with many businesses and supported them as well. I guess I have entered into the game. But sometimes I don’t feel like playing it. That’s the only child in me (LOL).
The Soul Pitt has recently expanded to offer full web design and graphic services. We’ve got a team of soulful geeks that can “Save your Soul” from bad designs. That side of our business can be found at www.SoulPittMedia.com
Also, Soul Pitt Radio On Command (SP ROC.’s) is coming soon. With local shows produced by spiritual leaders, DJ’s and business consultants. This is a hot new addition to our site that we plan to pump up in 2006.
I also became a board member for Adagio Health http://www.adagiohealth.org/ (formally The Family Health Council) and PR committee member for the National Association of Women Business Owners.
Overall, it’s been a great year. It had its ups and downs, but that’s life. It’s one big learning experience. But I couldn't have done it without the Man up above, the thousands of site visitors that check us out each week, the businesses that support us, the churches, the artists, the many volunteers/staff and my girls that were down from day one.
So on that note, as my one friend always says – Step your game up! And as always, support Black Businesses.
Love, Peace & Soul Pitt!
